You may think that choosing the right bowl for your Cat is something you do not need to put too much thought on, right? You may think that to get your Cat a bowl, the only thing you need to take a look at is the color of it to make it match your kitchen perhaps. Well, you may need to think again.
The food and water bowl for a Cat are as essential as a good bed or pillow. They mean that you really care for your Cat's welfare. They show how much time you took to think about the pet you love so much. To do the right thing, there are certain considerations to be made, take a look at them:
First of all, you should consider buying Bowls for each different pet in the house. That is to say, if you have more than one Cat or if you have a Cat and a dog, it is essential that you get them separate Bowls. This is simply because they will feel less stressed and less worried about having the right amount of food they need. Cats can be really mean in this respect, and if one of them has a stronger character, the other may not get any food in the end.
Secondly, the ideal size should not be too large nor too small. They need to be able to feel comfortable when eating as well. The ideal things would also be to provide separate Bowls. Those that are combined look very practical, but they are not practical at all. The food is usually taken, accidentally of course, into the water bowl, and thus it does not look or taste delicious for your Cat anymore.
Thirdly, the bottom should be heavy enough to avoid collapses or spills. You never know when Cats or dogs may start running around the place, and they may eventually end up throwing everything up in the air. It is quite difficult however, to keep the Bowls out of reach, but this is an important tip.
The ones that have a rubber base are ideal in this respect. They will not only be kept in their place, but they will not move either when your pet is eating there.
As regards colors, designs and materials the Bowls are made with the sky is the limit. There are plenty of different models you can choose from, and materials as well. Remember that plastic ones are really practical in that they are unbreakable, however, they tend to change the flavor of the food and they may eventually make your pet feel less interested in it. In this case, the ones made of ceramic seem to be better.
